Core Maths is a Level 3 course, equivalent to an AS level; for students who have achieved a grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths. The qualification is designed to prepare you for the mathematical demands of work, study and life. Core Maths is designed to maintain and develop real-life maths skills. What you study is not purely theoretical or abstract; it can be applied on a day to day basis and will involve a financial maths element. The skills developed in the study of maths are increasingly important in the workplace and if you study Core Maths you will equip yourself well for this challenge in the future. If you are not already studying A-level Maths, Core Maths will be very valuable to you if you are studying Accounts, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics or Psychology.
